On Saturday, November 12, 15 volunteers and two Forest Service employees gathered at Phon D Sutton Recreation Site on the Lower Salt River to plant milkweed plants they had been growing since mid-summer.

We’ll be monitoring the milkweed for signs of use by monarch butterflies, which are the reason for the plantings!
