Monarch Joint Venture (MJV) Board Chair Dana Boyle and Development Coordinator Robert Seilheimer, in Phoenix for the MJV Annual Meeting, toured Cave Creek District milkweed sites on Tuesday, March 7. Visiting from Minnesota and Indiana respectively, they were awed by the views of Bartlett Lake, Rattlesnake Cove, and the Sears-Kay ruin. They were impressed with the efforts of Friends volunteers to establish native milkweed plots on the Tonto and thanked us for our commitment to conserve western monarch migration. MJV is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting monarch habitat. Their website monarchjointventure.org contains a wealth of information on monarchs and includes the database the Friends utilizes to record
milkweed monitoring observations.
